I pulled up to the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth on the most beautiful day. There was literally not a cloud in the sky, and it was a gorgeous 60 degrees. It was my first time shooting at this venue, and I fell in love. Everywhere you go, natural light pours in! A photographer’s dream.
I officially met Lydia & James last fall when I took their engagement photos at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. It was great to spend some time getting to know them. I loved how laid back they were during our session, and I was so excited to be a part of their wedding day!
Lydia was so relaxed the entire day. I just wish I could have been like that on my big day! Teach me your ways, Lydia! James was no exception. I asked him how he felt right before the ceremony as I was capturing some portraits, and he said he felt great!
One of my favorite details from this day are definitely Lydia’s wooden flowers! They were beautiful, lightweight, and she’ll have them forever! What a cool alternative to the traditional bouquet. I also loved her centerpieces. Her centerpieces were the dessert! They were cupcakes made to look like flowers.
I had such a fun time capturing their day! I love when I meet a couple and just get that feeling, “They are meant to be.” That’s definitely how I feel about Lydia & James. I wish them many years of happiness together!
