Just the other day, it dawned on me that I’ve never shared my favorite engagement session locations!
I love engagement sessions. They are so relaxed, and fun! It’s the perfect opportunity for you to get more relaxed in front of the camera. When it comes to engagement sessions, I provide my couples with a lot of information on how to prepare! From how to coordinate their outfits, to how to choose the season, and even the location! I want them to look like they made the best decisions!
Today I thought I would share some of my absolute favorite places to photograph engagement sessions. Some locations just make my job easier, the lighting is gorgeous, and the stars seem to align! If you’ve ever wondered which locations I would personally choose, today I’m spilling the beans!
It doesn’t mean I don’t like shooting at other places, but these places certainly have my heart! In no particular order, my favorite engagement session locations:
Lexington, Kentucky, A one day pass for Henry Clay can be purchased for $25. They have a beautiful, manicured garden as well as a historic building that make for beautiful backdrops. View a Henry Clay Estate Engagement Session
Louisville, Kentucky, St. James Court is the perfect spot for “oh, just taking a stroll” vibes. In the Spring in the Summer, it’s lush and green with a beautiful foundation and street lamps that add so much charm. There are so many historic homes with a ton of character. Crestwood, Kentucky, Yew Dell is rustic and charming. They charge $75 for sessions and they tend to close before sunset so the session will need to be a little earlier than I typically plan. View a Yew Dell Engagement Session
Clermont, Kentucky, I have photographed countless engagement sessions at Bernheim, and for good reason! It’s easy to access and photographs well year-round. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, you can find something pretty at Bernheim. There’s a $10 recommended donation to get into the Forest. View a Bernheim Forest Engagement Session
Bowling Green, Kentucky, Although it is a bit of a drive, I believe this place is a hidden gem and I would love to go back. It has beautiful light and a historic vibe. It was so quiet, even on a beautiful night it wasn’t crowded. There’s even a beautiful hill with excellent sunset lighting. I could shoot here every night.
