Summer Mount Ida Farm Virginia Wedding

Wedding

In this unusual time, when I would usually be gearing up for busy season, and already have a few weddings under my belt, I’ve been trying to figure out how I can share beautiful content with all of you!  Well, I guess there is some beauty in being too busy to share all of my weddings.  Because of this, I’ve been able to gather up a few of my weddings from 2019 that I’ve never blogged!

Sometimes timing is just off, or I get too “perfectionist” about blog posts and they sit in draft status forever.  I love sharing new blog posts.  I love creating blog posts, and collaging images of my work.  It can be difficult not to be too critical of myself- but it’s satisfying to lay it out, share it, and reflect on the day!

Brianne and Andrew’s wedding was the last one I had the privilege of photographing in Virginia last year!  I’m so happy it was with this sweet couple that I closed the Virginia chapter in my business- the place that really allowed me to dream big, and get out of my comfort zone.  There is so much I miss about Virginia.  The landscape is so beautiful and varied.  We would go to some amazing places for a weekend trip- the beach, the mountains, DC.  Everything was right there.  But, as much as Virginia will always hold the most special place in my heart, we are so happy to be here in Kentucky with our family.

I’m pretty sure Brianne didn’t stop smiling this entire day, and I can see why! The day was perfect.

The weather was absolutely magical for a June day in Virginia. It wasn’t the typical June day you would imagine.  There was a breeze in the air, and the sun shined all day long!  Brianne & Andrew tied the knot with handwritten vows at Mount Ida Farm.  When I first met this sweet couple, it was for their engagement session at UVA- a place very special to their relationship.  Here is their proposal story:

“We planned to go to a UVA basketball game in December 2017. Beforehand, we went to get lunch at Bodo’s Bagels and sit and eat in a garden on UVA grounds, which is what we did on our first date. After we were finished, we spent some time enjoying the nice scenery and memories from that spot, and then Andrew proposed. Brianne’s favorite part was that he neglected to unwrap the ring box when he popped the question. She couldn’t even open it because she was too excited and her hands were shaking!”

Of course we made sure to capture some engagement photos in that special spot! :). I still remember their wedding day like it was yesterday!  They simply did not stop smiling the entire day.  I will never forget my last Virginia wedding, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights with you today!
