Everything about this session was total dreamy, and the kind of style I LOVE capturing! Oxmoor Farm Estate really is Louisville’s best kept secret. This venue is in the heart of Louisville, just a couple of minutes away from the mall, but you would never have any idea it existed! It’s on acres and acres of peaceful, manicured land, and is a total retreat into the past. This venue has everything from a small vineyard to a library with over 10,000 books (it reminded me of Beauty and the Beast). Oxmoor Farm Estate is completely classic and timeless. Some of the books and relics have been on location since the 1700s! One of the most fun parts of the session was getting to learn about the history and miscellaneous objects around the property from Shirley, the Foundation’s curator. This engagement session felt more like a little adventure into the past than just a photo session!
When Elizabeth asked me for a few location suggestions for their session, I felt like Oxmoor Farm Estate would complement their style perfectly. I gave them a few suggestions, and was ecstatic when they chose Oxmoor! Elizabeth and Eric almost didn’t have an engagement session at all! When I first met Elizabeth (pre-COVID) for coffee, it was on one of her quick visits home- she was still living in Colorado! We didn’t think we would be able to squeeze in a session before their August wedding. But, every situation has a silver lining. Since they are postponing their big day another year, and since they have relocated to Kentucky, we got the opportunity to have a proper engagement session!! I’m SO glad it did! I loved hanging out with these two for such a beautiful, fun session. They are so easy to be around, and have such great attitudes about their shifting wedding plans. They have a way of making you feel like an old friend!
I can’t wait until their big day next year- I know the wait will be worth it!
