It’s Summer! That means it’s outdoor wedding season here in Kentucky. Over the years, I’ve been able to explore some of Louisville’s best outdoor venue options for weddings. Whether you are looking for something urban and modern, or something more natural and classic- Louisville pretty much has it all.
My entire life I swore I would never get married outdoors, and of course… We got married outdoors. Even though it was a record hot day, I don’t regret it at all. And, though I love a gorgeous cathedral, the natural light that comes with an outdoor ceremony setting cannot be beat.
Here are some of my personal favorite outdoor wedding venues in Louisville:
Yew Dell Botanical Gardens: Yew Dell features stunning gardens, historic structures, and scenic landscapes. It offers several outdoor ceremony locations and a reception space in the rustic barn.
Waterfront Park: Located along the Ohio River, Waterfront Park provides a picturesque setting with views of the river and downtown Louisville. It offers several outdoor spaces, including the Great Lawn and the Harbor Lawn, for ceremonies and receptions.
Frazier History Museum Rooftop Garden: The rooftop garden at the Frazier History Museum offers panoramic views of downtown Louisville and the Ohio River. It provides an intimate and unique outdoor setting for ceremonies and small receptions.
The Pointe: Situated on the scenic waterfront, The Pointe is a modern venue with a large outdoor patio overlooking the river. It offers both covered and open-air spaces for ceremonies and receptions.
Foxhollow Farm: Located just outside Louisville, Foxhollow Farm is a picturesque venue with rolling pastures, a horse barn, and a charming gazebo. It offers a serene and rustic outdoor setting for weddings.
Louisville Water Tower Park: The Louisville Water Tower, a historic landmark, is surrounded by a park with lush greenery and stunning views of the river. It provides a unique outdoor space for ceremonies and receptions.
Locust Grove: This 18th-century historic estate features formal gardens, a meadow, and a Federal-style mansion. It offers outdoor spaces for ceremonies, as well as a tented area for receptions.
Historic Whitehall Gardens: Located in St. Matthews Louisville, Historic Whitehall Gardens offer an elegant outdoor venue for weddings. The beautifully landscaped gardens provide a romantic backdrop for ceremonies and cocktail hours.
